The metaverse's second act is upon us. But before we plunge neck-deep into these uncharted territories, we need to consider a few tough questions. Are we all really prepared to give up our privacy for a little bit of efficiency? Are we ready to deal with the ethical issues that this technology brings up? Are we thinking critically about the regulations that could protect users from harm?
It could either materialize as a new awesome key to innovation or blossom into our worst technological dystopia that stalks our pixels. To shape the future we want, we need to demand transparency, accountability, and user control. That’s why we need action now—otherwise the metaverse’s second act might be its final curtain call.
