DogeOS, an application layer enabling the development of apps and games on the Dogecoin blockchain, is partnering with PlaysOut to introduce a series of Doge-themed games. This partnership will introduce the Doge community to more tangible ways to make use of their DOGE crypto, rather than just holding on to it. More like 15 games, but a solid pipeline of interesting, innovative titles presumably coming in 2024 and beyond. The inaugural title goes on sale this August.

The two companies are hoping to integrate Dogecoin further into the gaming universe. It will take advantage of the very popular Doge meme, featuring the same cute Shibu Inu dog, Kabosu. DogeOS and PlaysOut have come together to create this project to increase the practical uses of Dogecoin. They’re interested in coming up with creative new methods to get the community more involved with the cryptocurrency.

DogeOS and PlaysOut Collaboration

DogeOS has been providing the infrastructure to PlaysOut to help develop and release these Doge-related games. This partnership is meant to provide exciting, new, and tangible ways for the Doge community to spend their DOGE. Additionally, the partnership aims to launch tradable in-game items and skins as Dogecoin NFTs, referred to as Doginals.

PlaysOut will be reskinning existing assets to develop games that more directly connect the Doge meme with the gameplay. This strategy will ensure speedy development and turnaround of numerous Doge-themed mobile games. Some of the agreements between DogeOS and PlaysOut are still in progress, while others have been completed.

DogeOS plans to release its first IP in Q3 of this year. This announcement will undoubtedly move the platform’s development forward in impactful ways. More importantly, it presents thrilling new possibilities in gaming and blockchain technology. Inspired by both gaming and Doge culture, the collaboration is all about harnessing the community-driven, fun-loving energy of both worlds.

Doge-Themed Games and NFTs

PlaysOut plans to release around 15 doge-themed games in multiple genres by the year’s end. We’re so excited that our first game will be releasing this coming August! This is just the beginning of a larger rollout that will bring the Doge meme across new gaming experiences. These new games will introduce players to the Doge IP and its characters in fun, interactive experiences.

Either within or compatible with DogeOS, in-game items and skins would be tradable as Dogecoin NFTs, or Doginals. This new feature will allow players to own, trade and use unique digital assets across the entire DogeOS ecosystem. NFTs are creating an immersive gaming experience. It further unlocks exciting new ways for players to engage with the Dogecoin community.

PlaysOut has provided the following concept art for one of their soon-to-exist DogeOS games. This piece provides an electrifying look at the visual style and themes we can expect when the game releases. The in-game universe will be populated by the Doge meme, inspired by late Shiba Inu dog Kabosu. This project aims to pay tribute to Kabosu’s legacy and introduce the iconic Doge meme to the real world through dynamic, entertaining gaming experiences.

Expanding Dogecoin's Utility

DogeOS and PlaysOut are both developed to create impactful experiences that let the Doge community use their DOGE in new, interesting, and rewarding ways. Doge has mostly been known as the original Web3 meme. This collaboration aims to bring Dogecoin to life beyond just holding, helping to immerse it within gaming and digital asset ownership experiences.

While PlaysOut will begin by releasing games that don’t use the Doge IP, it will eventually release games themed after Doge.
