The event will highlight an incredible lineup of speakers including Indigenous educator and elder George Couchie. First, Couchie will take participants on a journey through Cultural Mindfulness, with emphasis on centering healing through the Seven Grandfather Teachings. His wisdom provides an extraordinary invitation to journey toward spiritual awareness and emotional health.
Joining the dynamic speaker roster is Chloe Cole, a 20-year-old conservative activist. Cole's participation highlights the conference's commitment to engaging with contemporary issues and diverse perspectives. Community activist Adam Ventura is slated to speak, adding to the diversity of voices and experiences and expertise represented at ONBARR.
So too will Detective Marcus Joseph from York Regional Police, who is sharing his experience at the conference — bringing a law enforcement perspective to the discussions. His presence emphasizes ONBARR’s commitment to healing trauma and cultivating positive change in communities across the nation. Bringing law enforcement’s perspectives to the table is designed to help foster a more constructive dialogue and work together towards collaborative solutions.
ONBARR’s thought-provoking and engaging line-up of speakers is a testament to its mission of creating spaces for authentic conversation and catalyzing lasting change. The conference connects cutting edge thinkers across various disciplines and sectors. This creates a fluid and exciting canvas through which our artists can tackle heavy themes of trauma, identity, innovation. All participants will leave better informed, inspired and excited for some of the most important developments in our communities.
