TCOM has officially launched on the Binance platform, providing an equal starting point for all, while promoting the creation of meaningful community IP. This phenomenal new program is exclusively dedicated to Japanese anime and manga content. The platform plays home to all types of projects, from GameFi original creations, NFT series collections, and anime-themed token launches. Through TCOM, creators are equipped to reimagine, remix and improvise with pre-existing material. They can create new original works, especially works that were inspired by classic series such as Astro Boy and Black Jack.

Season 9 opened with an exhilarating two-day competition here in Hong Kong. This annual event provided the selected teams unparalleled access and networking opportunities, with a chance to really shine at key industry events. This move marks Binance’s commitment to encouraging innovation in the Web3 ecosystem. It especially emphasizes reaching the community through anime and manga.

Platform Overview and Focus

TCOM is designed to be an agile platform, suitable for many different digital creations based on anime and manga IP. You advocate for GameFi applications that mix engaging gameplay loops with Web3 features. This cross-platform integration presents developers with rich new opportunities for player engagement and monetization. The platform has taken an active role in assisting creators to produce and mint their own NFT series. This empowers them to tokenize their art and offer limited-edition digital collectibles to their fans.

In fact, TCOM played a key role in the launching of the first anime-themed tokens. These tokens incentivize participation, and they reward active engagement within highly specialized ecosystems or communities. By focusing on Japanese anime and comics content, TCOM taps into a global audience with a deep appreciation for these art forms, providing a dedicated space for creators and fans alike.

What sets the platform apart from other similar places is its emphasis on allowing for remixing of existing content and original creation of brand new works. This means that creators can take inspiration from established series and characters, such as Astro Boy and Black Jack, to produce derivative works that build upon the original IP. The potential is limitless! Produce fan fiction, exhibit your digital art, or create all new plots and characters while remaining in the storytelling universe.

Selection Process and Initial Cohort

As competitive as the final selection process might be, TCOM’s first cohort was even more so. More than 500 teams competed for the opportunity to make it this far. After careful evaluation, 16 teams were selected, representing a diverse range of talent and innovative ideas within the anime and manga space. It’ll be these teams who will receive further support and resources from Binance to build out their projects, fully realize their potential, and implement their visions.

Clearly, the large number of applications demonstrates how deep the interest runs in TCOM. That enthusiasm is based upon the potential to generate new, community-supported, IP in the anime and manga sectors. The teams that have been chosen are truly a vibrant, exciting array of innovators. They are raring to go to make a big impact on the Web3 landscape.

Hong Kong Launch Event and Exposure

Season 9 of TCOM kicked off with a two-day event in Hong Kong, providing the selected teams with a valuable platform to network, collaborate, and gain exposure. Through workshops and one-on-one meetings, participants worked closely with industry experts, potential investors, and other creators in the program. This allowed for a culture of collaboration that drove creativity.

In addition to networking opportunities, participants gained exposure at the Hong Kong Web3 Festival and the BNB Super Meetup, two prominent events within the blockchain and cryptocurrency communities. These events provided the perfect opportunity for teams to show off their hard work. They engaged new users, familiarized the public with their efforts and developed advocates for their projects. The exposure they receive at these events is invaluable for early-stage projects looking to make a name for themselves and get a foothold in the market.
